2017 GPVWC Supercup: Aiming for the Top with Known Drivers

After a successful 2016 season, Measuric Racing today announced that both Dino Paolini and Wopke Hoekstra will stay at the team. “A solid line-up that will compete for prizes”, team manager Mike Schroten says ambitiously.

Last season Measuric Racing ended up fourth in the standings with Paolini just outside of the top-3 in the drivers’ standings. Mike Schroten explains the decession to stick to the 2016 line-up: “We have managed to really turn our season around after the summer break, what shows that both Paolini and Hoekstra are on such a high racing level that they can both compete on the top of the standings. We have had a rough start of the season, with Mark Wicks (later replaced by Hoekstra) and Paolini struggling to score the results that we knew they could achieve”.

Hoekstra and Paolini have driven a lot together last season, driving for Measuric Racing in both Supercup and the Atlantic Series. In the last series they managed to become constructors champion, while Hoekstra just missed out on the drivers’ championship by 2 points. “I am looking forward to another season with Dino”, Wopke explains. “I believe we are a great team and a force to be reckoned with as we showed everyone last year in the Supercup and Atlantic Series.” Dino add to this, “Wopke is a great teammate and GPVWC is a very enjoyable league-environment.”

While both drivers are positively looking forward to the new season, they reckon that the grid is still one of the most competing. “The new season should be more competitive overall. You could already see that at the end of last season how similar everyone’s pace ended up being.” Dino says. Wopke: “The grid is very interesting, with a lot of new faces! I believe our experience can help us to beat the other drivers on the grid, but some of them may surprise.”

Press Message: 2016 Atlantic Series Champions?

Tonight marks one of the team's most exciting races as the GPVWC.com Atlantic Series takes over The Circuit of the Americas.
It is the final round of the season and the team is currently 54 points in front of main opponent YTF1. It thus could be the day that marks our first constructor's championship!
Additionally, Wopke Hoekstra still has a shot at becoming the driver's champion as well. Being only 17 points behind on Borja Millan, he could still win the championship if Borja has an off-day. In addition, Dino Paolini has a firm grip on P3 in the standings.
We for sure will be watching at the edge of our seat, will you? Qualification starts around 19:30 GMT and everything is covered by the broadcast team via the Youtube channel of GPVWC.com.

2016 GPVWC Supercup: Mixture of experience and new talent

This week the new GPVWC Supercup season starts off. Measuric Racing begins the season with a new primary driver line-up, as Wopke Hoekstra decided to step down to a reserve seat at the team.

With Hoekstra stepping down, opportunities came for a new tactic concerning the primary drivers. This resulted in a mixture of both new talent from outside the league, and an experienced driver to fill the Measuric cars. Experience was found with Mark Wicks, who has been with the league for over a decade. New talent came to the team in the form of Dino Paolini, who is new to the league, but not to simracing. After the Australian Grand Prix (Wednesday 24 February) we will further introduce our drivers.

Because another important introduction is the 2016 livery, painted by Robert Wiesenmüller of Shark Skins. "Robert has driven for Measuric Racing in the past and thus far designed all of our cars since 2014" team manager Mike Schroten explains. "Once again he created a beautiful design for our Supercup contender, with which I am sure we can improve last year's result (P.8)".

Dan Brewer and Wopke Hoekstra to drive second half of the Supercup season

With the GPVWC Supercup season going into the second half of the season, Measuric Racing will compete with a brand new line-up.

Several drivers (like Morten Wersersen and Tobias Olsson) took their chance in the #55 car after Pedro Melim moved to SimCraft for the remainder of the season. However, as was already known in the community, Wopke Hoekstra decided to move to Supercup on a primary basis since the Austrian GP last week.

With the departure of Christof Schgör, yet another new face will arise in the Measuric crew. Dan Brewer, who drove his debut race for ST Racing due to the #16 car being filled by Tobias Olsson, will join the team by driving the remainder of the season together with Hoekstra. Christof Schgör has decided to lay his focus on FSR, meaning that combining it with GPVWC Supercup was not possible anymore.

The team is pleased to have found two proper drivers to fill the vacant seats and we are more than happy to continue the season with Hoekstra and Brewer. Team manager Mike Schroten explained: "We know that both drivers are competitive enough to compete for top-10 finishes and we feel confident that with Brewer and Hoekstra we have a good opportunity to obtain our goals."

2015 GPVWC World Sport Series driver line-up announced

Last year, Measuric Racing ended the season as 7th in the standings with 141 points, 4 podium finishes and 1 victory. Now, we are only a few days away from the start of the 2015 season, which means that it is time to reveal our driver line-up.

Measuric's seats in the 2015 GPVWC World Sport Series will be filled by Sven de Vries and Tobias Olsson. While Olsson drove for the team before as emergency driver in the International Touring Cup, De Vries will make his début after driving for fellow Dutch team Edonis Engineering last year, ending up fourth in the driver standings.

"We decided to go with a new line-up in the series that marked our début in simracing back in 2012" team manager Mike Schroten explained. "With De Vries and Olsson we have a real chance to do even better than last year."

On March 18th the first round of the season will be driven on Circuit de Catalunya.

2015 Supercup car launch

Last Tuesday Measuric Racing revealed their 2015 Supercup car at TT Circuit Assen.

It is the third time that Measuric reveals its career ladder contender at their official test track, where Christof Schgör, Pedro Melim and Wopke Hoekstra drove some laps in their new car. "The livery fits perfectly with my helmet" Melim joked. "With the revealence of the car we are now ready for the first races in Melbourne".

The biggest change compared to last year's livery can be found with the two different types of blue that can be found on the 2015 car. As for the rest not much changed other than minor modifications apart from a new, fresh design.

The livery was designed by Robert Wiesenmüller from Shark Skins. This was not the first time Wiesenmüller did a paintjob for Measuric; last year he designed the Supercup cars as well as the World Sport Series and International Touring Cup vehicles.

Measuric Racing best FWD team in the GPVWC International Touring Cup

Last week the final round of this years' GPVWC International Touring Cup was driven. And with only little more than 30 points behind Aurora for 3rd position in the constructors championship it promised to be an exciting last round.

In race 1 and 2 it became clear that pointswise Chris Hack and Gary Lennon were gaining on Aurora. However, with Measuric scoring 9 more points than Aurora our drivers really had to give all they had in the last race of the season.
Aurora has had better races to be said, finishing with only one car (8th). However, only Chris Hack managed to finish in the top-15, coming in as 6th, which meant that the team did not score enough points to secure 3rd position in the constructors championship.

Nevertheless, Measuric Racing did become the best front wheel driven team of the championship, what we are very proud of!

We would like to thank Chris Hack and Gary Lennon for their commitment to the championship and for scoring multiple podiums. Furthermore we thank Eric Stranne and Tobias Olsson for their role as emergency driver during one of the rounds throughout the season.

Supercup

Tomorrow (Wednesday 21st of October) the last round of this years' Supercup season will be driven. Ari Nieminen and Mike Bell will do their absolute best to perform well one more time this year. Our position in the constructors championship is pretty much tied in 12th position.
